How do I setup a Blended Rate ?

The intention with Blended Rates is to derive a single lowest price across multiple rates to allow the customer to avail discount on their total length of stay that a) would not be available if booking across single rate or b) requires two or more bookings.Once a rate is configured as a blended rate, that rate can not be changed to another rate type. The price type is not selectable on a blended rate. All blended rates are internally considered as advanced (non-linear) pricing.

To set up a blended Rate follow the below steps :

            1. Login to Avvio and go to the Booking Engine Service

            2. Under Rate Management click Browse Rates. Create Rate

            1. Rate Code - All rates set up on Avvio must have a valid Rate Code, you can only have one rate per rate code.

            2. Order Index- This is the order which the rates will show on the booking engine depending on availability, starting from smallest to biggest.

            3. Status- This is where you decide if your rate is going to be

                    A) Active(i.e. available on the booking engine)

                    B) Suspended(i.e. not available for Sale but still on Avvio system)

                    C) Deleted( completely removed)

            4. Price Management [Macro Type] -Select Blended rate

            5. Rate Title-  This is the name of the rate that will appear on the booking engine and all subsequent pages of the booking. It will also appear on the confirmation email you receive once you have successfully made a reservation.

            6. Short Title - This will display where there is less space

            7. Rate Description- This is the description that will appear on the booking engine and all subsequent pages of the booking. It will also appear on the confirmation email you receive once you have successfully made a reservation.

8.Rate Terms & Conditions- This is the Terms & Conditions of this particular rate. They will display in addition to the General Hotel Terms and Conditions you have set. If you wish to just use the General Hotels T&C's, just leave this blank.

            9. Rate Sales Message- This is a sales message that will appear once you hover over the little Thumbs Up on the rate.

            10. Rate Reinforcement message- This is the final sales message a customer will see before they make their booking.

            11.  Custom Rate Incentives - Custom rate incentives will appear underneath the rate title while customers are viewing the results page sorted by rate first. A maximum of 5 custom rate incentives can be added to a rate

You will then be prompted to select up to 5 source rates from which the blended rate will derive it's prices. It is important to select rates that are generally compatible (e.g. similar terms and conditions, restrictions, tax policies etc)

When you have added the source rates you then need to configure the options for how the blended rate will behave.

            Package Rounding

For multi-night packages that are a source for blended rates, decide how the average price per night should be rounded. e.g. €200 for 3 night stay = €66.666667 (round down to €66.66 or round up to €66.67)

            Force restriction for corresponding price

When taking the lowest price available from a source rate, indicate if any corresponding restrictions on that source rate*room apply

e.g. If a source rate is €49 with MinLOS 2, then the blended rate can use €49 but will also enforce MinLOS 2

            Include suspended source rates

Rates that are normally suspended can still be used as a source for a blended rate if this option is selected

Once you have all the configurations set "Save Changes"
