Monthly Consolidated Report Overview

What does this do for me?

In our endeavour to continue providing you with the best, most intuitive and most comprehensive reporting possible, we have made further improvements to your monthly report.

We now provide both the digital metrics for your website and your booking engine performance on a single, consolidated monthly report. Having all your insights in one place will make it easier to manage your data and identify new opportunities for growth.

This new report has the capability of pulling data from a variety of sources, namely:

  • Google Analytics;
  • Google AdWords;
  • Avvio Booking Engine.

Other feature highlights:

Trend indicators: Display data charts for key KPIs like Booked Revenue, number of Bookings, Average Booking Value, Revenue per Room Night, and Sessions. The charts are rendered for 6-month and 12-month trends.

To access the full range of digital insights and analytics within the Avvio report, you will need to provide us with ‘read access’ to your Google Analytics (GA) account. This is so that the key digital metrics relating to your website performance (such as GA sessions and transactions) can be included in the appropriate section of the report. If you currently use Avvio’s Digital Marketing services, we’ll already have the information we need to provide you with this service.

We strongly recommend that you provide us with read access to your Google Analytics to access the full functionality of your reports. Without this information, the conversion funnel and the section on Digital Performance will be excluded from your monthly report.

To unlock the full functionality of your redesigned monthly report, please contact your Avvio Account Manager who will walk you through the process.

How does it work?

New Indicators and Layout

Your redesigned monthly report is now composed of the following sections:

Funnel

Figure 1: The Funnel Section

The Funnel section of the report will only be visible if you allow Avvio Insights to access your Google Analytics.

The Funnel section of the report features six key metrics:

Sessions – This is the total number of sessions on a property's web page for a given period. This data is provided by Google Analytics.
The Google definition of a session is: A group of interactions one user takes within a given time frame on your website. Google Analytics defaults that time frame to 30 minutes. Meaning whatever a user does on your website (e.g. browses pages, downloads resources, purchases products) before they leave equals one session.

Shoppers – The total number of website visitors who clicked onto the Avvio Booking Engine’s rate search page. This data is provided by Avvio’s CRM.

Bookings – This is the total number of bookings made via the Avvio Booking Engine. This data is provided by the Avvio Booking Engine

Website Effectiveness – This indicator is calculated in real time based on Google Analytics Sessions/Avvio Booking Engine visitors. It reflects the percentage of website visitors who converted into shoppers by visiting the website’s booking engine.
Please note: The ‘sessions’ metric used in these new reports is calculated differently and not compatible with the ‘Avvio visitor count’ used in the previous version of your monthly report. Thus, you should not compare website effectiveness between the old and new reports.
Please Note: You will not be able to view this section if you do not provide Avvio with your Google Analytics data.

Booking Engine Conversion Rate – This figure reflects the percentage of Shoppers who converted into Bookers. This data is provided by Convert by Avvio.

Overall Conversion Rate – Calculated on the fly, using data from Google Analytics and the Avvio Booking Engine, this metric reports on the percentage of Sessions converted into Bookings.

Despite sharing the same name, the Avvio booking engine and Google Analytics due to differences in recording data, they may show different values to one another. This is due to Google not handling the same amount of Input Data that the Booking Engine holds.

 The data gathered by Google does not differentiate Bookings and Vouchers from one another and simply provides a lump sum number. Ad-block plugin have also been known to affect the data that Google Analytics can gather, The data gathered by Convert is not affected by these factors and can provide you with a more accurate breakdown of how your website is performing.
